Friday Romance
Today, December 01, 2006...I hold the object of my desire.
The Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi 10.1-Megapixel Digital SLR (released in August 06).
We are talking 0.2-second start-up time and shutter release lag of 0.01 sec. DIGIC II image processor, sophisticated signal-processing algorithms, low energy consumption, all sorts of photo style settings auto and manual exposure modes. 9-point, cross-pattern, wide-area autofocus with auto and manual point selection, AE lock, standard auto exposure bracketing; 35-zone evaluative, partial and center-weighted average exposure, and 3 fps continuous shooting with a maximum burst of 27 frames. White balance settings including auto, daylight, shade, cloudy, tungsten, fluorescent, flash and manual; built-in, pop-up E-TTL II auto flash (compat with EX-series Speedlite external flashes). Playback modes including single image, 9-image index, magnified zoom, auto play and auto play after shooting.
And all in a compact, lightweight design weighing 1.1 lbs.
Oh happy day, I am in love.
Canon does not make crap (and prices are sweet too)...remember that when/if filling those Digital SLR needs.
In celebration, I must go hiking. Photos to follow!

Nice! I need to get a toy like tht someday soon. It puts my Kodak digital to shame!
You have blogging all this time and haven't figured out how to Bleg properly yet. Even if you have bought it already you should put a link in so people can donate. Promise to send them a picture of you weary something small, like gloves, and pay for the camera that way. Do I have to tell you everything?
Wearing it should read wearing.
Katey- I felt the same way until today. Just do it! It's a good time to purchase...this Canon was not much more than the little Sony Cybershot (only 4.0 megapixels if I rem correctly) I bought just three or four years ago. That is, if you don't count the many available (and expensive) accessories, which you only need if trying to make a lil money back (or look cool). haha
Nikon rocks too but their latest rival only offers slightly higher quality photos, more confusing buttons (that also make it easy to accidentally change settings while taking photos) while costing quite a bit more. I share in case you do decide to shop around soon, they may try to push the Nikon on ya. lol
Doc- I see the error of my ways and bow to the blegging master. (I do hope this blegging doesn't involve a goat tho, haha).
I think I'm turning gren!
I have a Canon...but not that purty one. It takes beautiful pictures and has a 12x. It is my first digital, so I've yet to really see what it can do.
*drool*
Lin- Wait one more yr and get it at 1/4 the cost to get even with me. lol
RT- Yay! ALL Canon cameras are purty imho, btw. :0)
CUG- *passes tissue* haha
