...6 Months Later...

Snow Bunnydom sucks.

Update- I am no longer the seriously disturbed owner of a leaking home in the depressing mountains of West by God Virginia. I hate the cold and while it's a nice place to visit, being a mountain mamma kicked my @ss.

There, I said it. I'm not invincible.

While there were all sorts of problems associated with residing in this particular area (which I lived as a young teen and couldn't wait to leave interestingly enough) the final straw was health. I've an immune disorder that is not life threatening at all but seasonal in nature and aggravated by stress, and that's all I seemed to find in them there mountains. Friends in the area will just have to visit me...

....wait for it...

on the coast of North Carolina! Destination Emerald Isle, baby. I'm a beach bunny! Trust you me, you prefer photos of that to the whole mountain fiasco.

I plan to move there, open my own business, and live my vacation.

(Jes, I've been very busy these past six months.)

Other, yet no less exciting updaty stuff-

The uber-teen did run away to college. She moved into her very own appartment last May, a whole month before the 18th birthday. :( However, she's only a few hours away and the whole beach bunny thing will put me no further from her than I am now. That rocks.

It was one long summer without her, but we just returned from a lengthy vacation together (New Orleans and then Pensacola, Florida) and drove the whole way (and of course back), so were able to spend a ton of time together before taking our separate life paths. This trip was also very special because she'd never seen the ocean as we always vacationed in northern or mid-western US, and I'd promised to make that happen before she left for college.

It was a horribly stormy day, the day we left NO for the Fl beach, and any sane person would have headed home instead, but a promise is a promise..even in the rain. I'm very happy we did decide to go despite the storm, because the sky began to clear within an hour or two of arrival and it turned out to be a most beautiful day. I think it would have been worth standing in the rain in any case, and the photos of her first look at the ocean and finding a shell prove that.

The last photo actually made me cry, and as we all know, it takes a whole lot to make an evil conservative cry. She may as well have been three years old and blowing out the birthday candles there.

A few other favorite vacation photos (I plan to upload all to the photobucket account later and share the link because there are just so many, and maybe I can milk another post out of this vacation)-

Sooo pretty. > insert girly sighs here <

Hope you're all doing great and are as evil as you were when I last posted!

Beeeeeautiful! :)

I'm glad you found a path that makes you happy and doesn't put you too far from Uber-teen.

I think I take for granted how close I am to the ocean. I need to go visit it more often. Not much of a beach person...burn too easily, but it is an awesome force to witness.

Glad you're still alive and kicking. RSS proved it's worth today... :)

I'm taking the hurricane to North Cakalaky when I visit this weekend. You can blame me in case you have a hurricane over your house.

Thankies Earpy, will do (and ya know I'll have to think of some way to torture the masses you're sending my way). ;)

Ssssteve! Hope you and the family are doing great, on my way over to see what's up..

Stew- Aww...you RSS'd me? Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talkin' about... *g*

Nice to see ya back online again Uber, you evil evil woman. Buwahahah...

...oh and the mountain life we've adopted this past year has been murder on my wife's lupus (or hashimoto's, we're in the midst of diagnosis) but she won't change it for the world... the wease's face and his newfound lizard friends make it worth it.

You can't go wrong on the emerald isle in terms of lifestyle eh! Hell, if Obama wins the Presidency, we just may hop the ocean to take up shop with my nutty uncles in the real Emerald Isle where the taxes have been eliminated and the Guinness flows freely...

but after Palin's speech tonight my hope is renewed... although theres that nagging issue of Immigration which McCain gets a resounding F, and has been suspiciously absent as an issue at the convention...

screw it... booking flights now...

*highfive* nice havin ya back hon!

Bout time!

You couldn't have picked a prettier beach to show the U-teen. From Gulf Shores on down, just beautiful!

I hope we don't need to start calling you "hurricane mamma"!

Good luck!

Aw, the uber-teen's graced my half-dead blog and she wasn't even hungry. <3 you! And yeah, get back to studying!

Hiya Peak! Sorry to hear the Peakah wife is down, but rocks to hear that she's enjoying life all the same. May they develop some new and astonishing treatment that kicks ass! Hey, it could happen... I'm eyeing such a new treatment now, but letting everyone else play that guinea pig role first. Anyhow. Uber-hugs to the whole clan!

Lin- Yeah, the hurricane scare at around the same time as my lil announcement is both unfortunate and ironic timing. Oo I drive fast though.

How are you??? Inquiring minds... Great I hope!
